For those of you who are reading this through a some kind of Reader you might be interested to know that I’ve been tweaking the design on this site.
For the rest of you, you’ve probably already noticed.
There was a bit of thought behind it:
- 3 Columns – I like 3 column designs, most people have a wide enough screen these days to make the most of it.
- Simplicity – I like designs that are very simple, but still functional. I’m not a huge fan of designs with loads of bling. I know that this slightly contradicts the previous point but it’s a balancing act.
- Photographs – I wanted something that would showcase some of my favourite photographs. Pictures are also a great way of engaging with people, but the skill is creating a design that allows this without it being gaudy.
- Fonts – I don’t like serif fonts. Don’t know why particularly, I just don’t.
I’ve still got some tweaking to do.
Let me know what you think.

I meant to comment the other day when I saw it, I love it!
I too like the 3 column layout, though I´m not happy with mine yet. 😦
Would be interested to know what plugins/widgets you’re using.

My full list of plugins are as follows:
Akismet 2.2.3 – which I’m using for SPAM, as you’d expect
All in One SEO Pack 1.4.9 – which I’m using for title re-writing and other things.
Broken Link Checker 0.4.14 – which I’m using to resolve some of the migration issues that are bound to arise
DandyID Services 1.4.9 – which is providing the widget for my social bookmarks
Duplicate Sidebar Widgets 1.0 – which is allowing me to have the same content on multiple sidebars.
FD Feedburner Plugin 1.4 – which is doing the feedburner redirection
Flickr Photo Album 1.1 – which is showing my Flickr pictures (still need to sort the CSS for this one)
Google Analytics for WordPress 2.9.1 – Analytics, enough said.
Google XML Sitemaps 3.1.2 – sitemaps, enough said
MaxBlogPress Favicon 2.0.9 – gives a favicon
ShareThis 2.3 – For the ShareThis capability on the posts
Twitter Widget 1.0.3 – Provides the Twitter widget, allowing me to strip out some updates.
WordPress.com Stats – State, enough said.
I’m then just using the standard widgets for Recent Comments, Recent Posts, RSS, Tags, Categories and Archives. I’m looking at changing the categories and tags ones because they don’t quite work how I would like them.
Hope that helps.

Graham, like it. Also love content in the left hand column, makes it so much easier to read when I access from a mobile device.
